We want to bring Catholic radio (and EWTN Catholic programming) back to Birmingham. We need your prayers and your financial help to make this dream a reality.
In the late 1990s, a group out of Jacksonville, Florida—Queen of Peace Radio—first brought Catholic radio to Birmingham. While on the air, the station enjoyed a devoted following of Catholics who listened regularly as a way to deepen their faith. The station also became an evangelization tool to reach many non-Catholics in the Birmingham area with the truths of the Catholic Faith.
This important work continued until the station was, unfortunately, sold in 2004. Now, Queen of Heaven Radio, Inc., a non-profit corporation whose Board of Directors is comprised entirely of people who live and work in Birmingham, is committed to re-establishing local Catholic radio.
Since 2005, the board has been able to raise approximately $457,000 to bring Catholic radio back to Birmingham. This means we are more than halfway to our goal of $850,000, which is the amount we feel we need to make this dream become a reality. It is the amount we need to purchase a station.
